Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the best of Africa’s mining and wine industries. The first annual Mine, Wine & Dine Gala brings together trailblazers, artisans, and innovators to honour excellence, enjoy exclusive tastings, 
and savour a night of fine dining and live entertainment. It’s the perfect occasion to connect with industry leaders, toast to achievement, and experience a celebration like no other.

Unforgettable Wine Experience

Our objective is to facilitate a meaningful exchange between distinguished leaders in the mining sector and esteemed figures from the wine industry.

The evening will commence with a blind tasting, designed to identify the finest wines across the cultivars represented by the participating winemakers.

An Exceptional Culinary Experience

Indulge in a four-course culinary journey crafted by acclaimed chefs. Guests will be treated to a meticulously curated menu that showcases their signature creativity, local ingredients, and world-class flair—an unforgettable gastronomic experience to complement an evening of fine wine and celebration.

Each table, reserved by a mining industry participant, will be accompanied by a dedicated winemaker who will personally oversee the pairing of their curated wine selection with each course of the evening’s fine dining experience.

Awards Function and Live Entertainment

Throughout the evening, we will honour exceptional individuals and outstanding achievements within both the mining and wine industries.

The programme will be enhanced by a curated selection of live performances, designed to elevate the atmosphere and sustain a sense of anticipation. The event will conclude with an exclusive cigar and whisky experience, providing an ideal setting for meaningful engagement among peers and industry contemporaries.

16:30 to 17:00

Arrival & Welcome
Guests are welcomed at the iconic Mount Nelson Hotel with a refined arrival experience, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening of mining excellence, fine wine, and celebration.

17:00 to 18:00

Wine Tasting & Canapés 
Guests gather for an immersive tasting experience featuring a curated selection of wines from our participating winemakers, accompanied by elegant canapés and live entertainment. A special interactive tasting element will form part of the experience, with results revealed later in the evening.

18:30 to 22:00

Gala Dinner & Awards
The celebration continues in the Mount Nelson Ballroom with the Mine, Wine & Dine Gala Dinner. The evening includes a formal welcome, a four-course dining experience with exclusive wine pairings, live entertainment, and the presentation of the Mine, Wine & Dine Awards. Guests will enjoy personal engagement with winemakers throughout the dinner.

22:00 to 23:30

Brandy & After-Dinner Experience
The evening concludes with a relaxed after-dinner experience featuring a curated brandy tasting, live music, and indulgent accompaniments, providing a memorable close to the night’s celebrations.

Meet our special guest speakers

Neal Froneman

Neal Froneman is a South African mining executive with nearly four decades of experience in operations, corporate development, and leadership. He served as Executive Director and CEO of Sibanye-Stillwater from 2013, transforming it from a South African gold miner into a diversified global producer of PGMs and other metals. He holds engineering and finance qualifications and is a respected industry leader.

Dr. Paul Walker

Dr Paul Walker is a leading authority on global precious metals markets with over 30 years’ experience in metals analysis, mining investment, and resource development. Former CEO of GFMS Ltd., he led the industry’s benchmark Gold Survey and is widely respected for his rigorous, data-driven analysis of gold, silver, and PGM markets. He serves on several mining and bullion boards and is a trusted international commentator on precious metals and macroeconomic trends.

Dr. Takalani Nemarumane-Tshabalala

Dr Takalani Nemarumane-Tshabalala is a South African academic and thought leader in engineering management, sustainable transport, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. She is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager at the University of Johannesburg and Deputy Director at the Centre for Electric Vehicle Systems. A Presidential Commissioner on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and a Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans honouree, she holds a PhD in Engineering Management and is widely recognised for her interdisciplinary research and leadership.

Craig Hutton

Craig Hutton is a mining industry exective and CEO of Iron Bull Mining with nearly four decades of experience spanning geology, mining economics, finance, and consulting. He is the author of Mining Economics Explained, a guide for boards, executives, managers, and investors, and is widely recognised for his expertise in applied mining economics and valuation.
